THE EXCLUSIVITY OF CHRIST
In today’s world of relative truth, inclusiveness, and political correctness there is one question that is often posed to Bible-believing Christians: “Is Jesus Christ the only way to heaven?”  Who better to answer that question than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself Who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).  Christ, likewise, stated in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst,” and in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture,” and in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

The apostle Paul boldly proclaimed, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1Corinthians 3:11).  The word “other” in this verse literally means “a different or another.”  He also said in 1 Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” The apostle Peter preached of the Lord Jesus Christ, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).  The apostle John declared, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also” (1 John 2:22-23); “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.  If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed” (2John 1:9-10).

Therefore, though today’s society in its extreme tolerance and excessive inclusiveness would espouse that all religions are somehow connected and lead to heaven, Scripture undeniably declares otherwise.  The unmistakable message of the Word of God is that Jesus Christ is the one and only way of salvation.

1 John 5:12 “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”

John 3:16-18, 36 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

There is no way to heaven apart from faith in Jesus Christ alone.  The wonderful news of the Scripture is: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).  “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).  “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
